The hooks that attach to the headrest pulled out of the support bar causing the entire mount (along with a $250 dvd player) to crash to the ground. On top of that, when it does manage to work as intended without falling, the motion of the car causes the dvd play to rotate forward and backwards getting stuck at odd viewing angles.
The idea is great but the flimsiness of the unit made in unusable for us. Might work okay on long flat stretch of highway like in Kansas or somewhere, but not ideal hills or turns.
I bought this because it had relatively good reviews. I think we made it 15 minutes once.
Very disappointed. I'm not sure if I got the only one that was junk, but this thing did not work for me.
So everytime I've used the thing it has crashed to the ground after a several minutes of driving.
I would definately recommend this one. This car mount was a life saver driving across country with a 20 month old in the back. It's easy to set up and held the dvd player in place.
This is the main reason I give this product a low rating, other than that, I think it is an okay product. Were they making it from scratch. The Seller of this product took almost 3 weeks to deliver the product. These days, who wants to wait that long for delivery.
We were able to set up the dvd player in no time and the kids were quiet. We bought this for our car trip to CA, from WA. Great product. Easy to install and take down. We have two kids, ages 7 and 2. It worked great.
The strap may seem less-than-ideally placed for many players, but didn't obstruct operation at all, and wouldnt let go even when I knocked it around by hand and tried to pull the thing in the wrong direction several times. It looks like a cheap piece of plastic with flimsy arms that pull out without much friction and a cheapo velcro strap. But it works amazingly well, holding our 10" Panasonic (the one w/ the 11-hour battery) for rides up and down the California coast.
